Gameday - Avalanche

Saturday, February 17, 2007
7:30 p.m. MST
Pengrowth SaddleDome
Colorado @ Calgary

  • This is the second of three games between the Flames and Avalanche in the next week. While the games are consecutive for Calgary (H-H-A), there is a game in Vancouver for the Avalanche tomorrow night. Which means that tonight is the second game in a three game road trip for Colorado before heading back to Denver to host the Flames. It also means that we'll be softening them up for what is probably our biggest rival in the Northwest right now...
  • In the last game Calgary blew a late second period 4-2 lead in a 7-5 win for Colorado...
  • Miikka Kiprusoff will likely be facing off against Budaj tonight, as Jose Theodore was in net for the game on Thursday...
  • Joe Sakic is the leader for Colorado in regards to goals (26), assists (42) and points (68), while Ken Klee leads the team with a +15 and Ian Laperriere with a team high 102 PIMs...

My prediction is a romping by the home team 5-1. Goals by Iginla (2), Daymond Langkow, Kristian Huselius, and Jeff Friesen (!) for the boys in red, and Milan Hejduk for the visitors in white...

And yes, I did just update my preview from the last game...

Hey, if they aren't changing much for this one, then neither am I (besides, I'm playing in a hockey tournament this weekend and don't have a lot of free time)...

haha you added friesen to the goalscorers... we have a very similar take on this game. lots of goals by our boys in red and very few gaffes by kipper. we'll see....
